General Information

Catalyst Copper is a copper and base metal developer with a focus on copper mining projects in Mexico. Their current focus is the La Verde copper property, which is situated in the Sierra Madre del Sur approximately 320 kilometres west of Mexico City in Michoacán State. It consists of two claims, Capire and Unificación Santa Maria, comprising approximately 16,900 hectares.

La Verde copper porphyry mineralization has been explored since the 1970s resulting in the discovery of two mineralized copper zones; East Hill and West Hill. Previous geological and geophysical programs at La Verde have demonstrated a strong association between IP responses (geophysical) and porphyry copper mineralization hosted in the multistage La Verde intrusive system. The La Verde property has an exposed porphyry copper system amenable to open pit mining with two known zones of porphyry style copper ± gold ± molybdenum mineralization and with significant upside exploration potential.

The project is located in an area with existing infrastructure: 150 km to coast with water, power and rail all nearby. The Company can earn a 60% interest in the La Verde Project by advancing US$6 million to Teck Resources Limited’s Mexican subsidiary, Minera Torre de Oro, S.A. de C.V., and incurring aggregate exploration expenditures of US$10 million on the Property on or before December 31, 2012. Required exploration work under the agreement includes 30,000 meters of core drilling and 200 line kilometers of geophysical surveys. The property is subject to an underlying 0.5% NSR to the original claim holder.
